Kangana Ranaut, in a new video, spoke about the various fake and insulting ‘blind items’ written on Sushant Singh Rajput, and why nothing is ever written on star kids.
Four days ago, Kangana Ranaut had shared an explosive video, talking about Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. The 34-year-old actor had killed himself on June 14 at his Bandra, Mumbai home. And ever since the news of his death hit the internet, the angle of nepotism, bullying and favouritism came to the fore.
Today, the official Instagram handle of Team Kangana Ranaut released another video of the actor, this time pointing out certain articles published by various media houses as ‘blind items’ which spoke about Sushant Singh Rajput in a bad light.
Kangana starts off quoting what Sushant’s father KK Singh had said about the actor’s mental state, that he was perturbed by whatever was happening within the film industry. She further quoted Abhishek Kapoor, who had worked with Sushant in Kai Po Che and Kedarnath, where he said, “It was a systematic dismantling of a fragile mind.” She then quotes Ankita Lokhande, Sushant’s ex-girlfriend who had worked with Kangana in Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi, who said that Sushant was unable to handle the disrespect and insults that came his way every day.
Kangana then dives into how a certain section of the media assisted the ‘movie mafia’ in this systematic dismantling of a fragile mind, by writing false, baseless and derogatory articles about the late actor. “A blind item is an article where you don’t mention the name of the actor so that no one can sue you, but the description is so clear that you can tell who they are talking about. Like for me, they will refer to me as a girl with curly hair, who has won a National Award, etc,” Kangana starts off.
Citing examples of four such blind items published in recent times, Kangana said, “On August 23, 2007, BollywoodLife wrote that Sushant only plays his own movie songs in the background when he’s having sex, because he is a narcissist. On December 16, 2016, Mumbai Mirror wrote that Sushant looks like a ‘truck driver’. On February 22, 2019, Mumbai Mirror again wrote that Sushant broke a glass bottle over a director’s head at a party in a drunken state. On October 18, 2018, a DNA piece said that Sushant raped one of his co-actors and he could be in deep trouble and go to jail under the #MeToo movement.”
She further added that the very same brigade of intellectual journalists also came after her. Four such journalists formed a guild overnight and decided to boycott her film, so that the film flops due to lack of adequate coverage. “These journalists who take the agenda of the movie mafia forward, call this mental, emotional, psychological lynching journalism,” she said.
She questioned the readers, “You read this and enjoy this, but do you ever wonder why such things are never written about Nepo Kids?”
Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh had said that the police will investigate all angles pertaining to Sushant’s suicide, including that of a professional rivalry brought to light by the media. In line with that, the police yesterday had called for a copy of Sushant’s contract with Yash Raj Films. In her statement, Rhea Chakraborty told the cops that Sushant had terminated his contract with YRF and had also asked her to do the same. BJP MP Nishikant Dubey today said that he will take the matter of Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide to Parliament, and urged the police to do their job without fear.
Sushant Singh Rajput died by suicide on June 14. The late actor’s last rites were performed on June 15 and were attended by his family and a few close friends. His ashes were immersed in Ganga in Patna on Thursday. The actor’s father lives in Patna.
