The year 2023 will begin with a cinematic bang. ‘Pathaan,’ starring Shah Rukh Khan, will have a strong opening. The film’s booking began on Friday across the country, and based on the rate of ticket sales, it appears that the picture will make history. Fans of Shah Rukh Khan are growing impatient to see their idol on the big screen again after four years.

This is why, as of 11:20 p.m. on Friday, 3.2 lakh tickets had been reserved for the film’s opening day. The majority of these tickets were sold for the Hindi and Tamil versions. ‘Pathaan’ opens on January 25, and practically every theatre had a full house on the first day.

According to Sacnilk, a website that tracks the film industry’s operations, the Hindi and Telugu versions of ‘Pathaan’ have sold the most tickets. Even before its release, the film has amassed a gross revenue of Rs 14.66 crore from bookings.

The net collection from booking is approximately Rs 11 crore in about 48 hours. Surprisingly, there are just four days left to book. ‘Pathaan’ will be released on Wednesday, and the following day, Thursday, January 26. In this case, the film will benefit from the Republic Day holiday.

These Cities Are Experiencing Bumper Bookings for ‘Pathaan’

According to the data, Delhi-NCR has earned Rs 1.79 crore out of the Rs 14.66 crore booked so far. In Mumbai, a booking of Rs 1.74 crore has been made. Similarly, there is a huge obsession among Shah Rukh Khan’s followers in the country’s other major cities, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Kolkata.

In terms of Shah Rukh Khan’s films, his ‘Happy New Year’ had the greatest opening in 2014, earning Rs 44.97 crore. The second number is ‘Chennai Express,’ which began at Rs 33.12 crore in 2013.

According to the way ‘Pathaan’ tickets are selling, industry analysts estimate the film will generate Rs 35-40 crore on its January 25 release date.

‘Pathaan’ Will Beat ‘Brahmastra’ in Advance Bookings

In terms of booking earnings, Ayan Mukherjee’s ‘Brahmastra,’ which was released in 2022, earned a booking of Rs 19.66 crore prior to its release. ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2,’ the second Bollywood blockbuster of 2022, earned Rs 6.55 crore from bookings.

During the same period, ‘Laal Singh Chadha’ received a booking of Rs 5.52 crore. Right now, while four days of booking time are left for ‘Pathaan’, it seems that this film will leave behind ‘Brahmastra’.

‘Pathaan’ Sold Over 4 Lakh Tickets in Its First Weekend

On Friday, Ashish Saxena, COO (of Cinema), BookMyShow, announced that their site had sold 400,000 tickets for the opening weekend of ‘Pathaan’ in less than 36 hours.

According to Ashish, the cities with the most tickets for ‘Pathaan’ include Hyderabad, Kolkata, Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Pune, Lucknow, and Chennai.

Surprisingly, bookings are being made in cities such as Hyderabad, Chennai, and Bengaluru in South India. These three cities account for 26% of all tickets sold.

…then ‘Pathaan’ Will Earn Rs 300 Crore in Its Opening Weekend

‘Pathaan,’ directed by Siddharth Anand, has a five-day weekend. Given the January 26 holiday and other Saturday-Sunday holidays, it is projected that this film would gross Rs 300 crores worldwide in its first weekend. ‘Pathaan’ also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in addition to Shah Rukh Khan.

Similarly, Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif appear in the film for a 20-minute cameo. It is produced by Yash Raj Films and stars Salman and Katrina in the roles of the ‘Tiger Franchise,’ i.e. Tiger and Zoya.
